Most photographs, especially old ones, become damaged by handling (fingerprints) and exposure (sunlight). If your photos are important to you, we strongly suggest that you restore them early, before the repair becomes expensive.  When enlarging a small picture it can be difficult to maintain good, sharp picture quality.  But if the original photograph is sharp and clear enough it can produce a larger picture you'll love.
